The integration between enterprise risk management and performance management system: managerial analysis and conceptual model to support strategic decision-making process

The integration between Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Performance System (PMS) has become a crucial process for managing environmental complexity in companies. In this context, order to contribute the research field, paper follows two purposes: (1) identify most relevant risk dimensions, connected drivers, perceived managerial practices; (2) provide suitable way integrate ERM PMS supporting strategic decision-making process. Based on semi-structured interviews with total of 75 senior middle managers from 25 different Italian companies, authors developed conceptual model support corporate transition processes, built specific set Key Indicators (KRIs) that can enable them achieve economically environmentally sound performance.
